~ Sweet Silvery Girl~

~I wander mountain to mountain,
From sea to sea,
I wander into a country
Where everyone is asleep.
There in the Land of Nod
I never think of home,
For home is there,
With sleeping doves and silvery girls,
Sleeping boys and drowsy roses.
There I find people whose eyes are heavy,
And trees with folded wings.~
~ Land Of Nod ~

Love Her Poetry!
 In May I signed up
for Parisian Dreams
with Nancy of Sugar Lumps Studio.
One of the Pieces we were inspired to Create
was Flea Market Clip Boards.
Lets See...May, June, July and August..
3 1/2 Months Later Here,Finally is my Piece!
I decided to try my Hand at these
Beautiful Fabric Roses
I see Everyone Making.
The Fabric I used here was Heavier than Muslin.
They called it utility Fabric at Joann's.
I just tore 2 inch wide strips by the
Width of my Fabric from Salvage to Salvage(40")
I Liked the look that tearing the Fabric gave the Roses.
I started by rolling the Center and then Twisting the Fabric
so it folded over itself,
around that Center until I had my Rose.
A little Hot Glue or
A Couple of Stitches and you are Done.

I then Stitched on  a Crocheted Doily to the back
just to add another Element
as well as a Covering for
the less Pretty Backside of the Rose.
Lemay and I found some Old Paper Lace Doilies
that had such a Wonderful Patina. It is a Little Tricky to Glue them on because they wanted to tear but I loved the Look they Gave.
I found Matte Gel Worked Best and Also worked Very Well with the Mica I used to add a Little Sparkle to the Victorian Scrap!
Love this Look!
What I Learned in Floral Design is to
Always Cover your Naked Behinds!
So a Piece of my Favorite Sheet Music
and another Paper Lace Doily...
And we are Finished!
Loved this Project! Thank You Nancy!

~Bienvenue al Canada~

 Bienvenue al Canada!
Our Drive was Long But
you can see how Happy Grandma Alison
was to see the Children!
Grandpa was very Excited too but I fear we wore him out!
Grandma and Grandpa live
in the town of Kelowna ,
which is about a 4 Hours Drive
from Vancouver.
Kelowna is Situated on the
Enormous Lake Okanagan amongst
Beautiful Fruit Orchards  and Vineyards
as far as the Eye Can See!
A Haven for Golfing and Boating in the Summer
and Snow Sports in the Winter.
That is why it earned its name as the
Playground of British Columbia.

Katelyn's Beautiful Mermaid!
We Spent Quite a Few Days at the Beach
just to get out of Grandma's Hair
and to give Grandpa a Rest.
He Put on 8 Pounds during our Visit
and Enjoyed Katelyn's Special Hamburgers very Much!

At 2 A.M. on Saturday morning, August 16, 2003, a bolt of lightning struck a tree near Squally Point in Okanagan Mountain Park. An extremely dry summer and plenty of fuel, coupled with high winds, quickly spread the fire into the city of Kelowna. 248 homes were destroyed, 30,000 people evacuated, and there was 100 million dollars of property destruction

It is amazing how Life just Carries on
and how Nature Renews itself .

Mark and the Children went up to
the Kettle Valley Railroad Trestles for a Hike.
The Myra Canyon section of the
Kettle Valley Railway was
built between 1912 and 1914 and now Belongs to BC Parks.
It was an Engineering Feat for its time and now is
World Renown for Hiking and Mountain Biking  enthusiasts. It is these Enthusiasts that helped rebuild after many of the Trestles
were Burned by the Fire.

Its Long Waaaaay Down.....

  Studio Right
My Inspiration for this Lamp came from PB,
They wanted .. Wow!
A Lot of Money
for their Lamp!
So I decided to come up with My Own.
This is Made with my Own Collection of Images,
A Tomato Cage,
Office Depot File Clips,
and A Pull Chain Lamp Kit from Home Depot.
The top is an Old Bedroom Ceiling Light
(Circa 1970's)
That I found at a Local Thrift Store.
Black Spray Paint was all it Needed!
Using my own Collection of Images
made it More Personal and Fun not to mention
How Beautiful they are Illuminated!

The Big Picture.. Well the Tiny Picture!
I Love these Old Watch Faces.
 This is my Mood Board.
I Like to Have my things Out so I know what I have.
