The Christmas Season
Christmas is soon to be Here! I hope this finds you all Ready and in Good Christmas Cheer ! Well..OK..Almost Ready or... Not Even Almost Ready, Like Me!!
My Father was the Christmas Tree Decorator in our House. Every Ornament was Places with care. And the Tinsel....Well he would spend an Hour or more Painstaking hanging one strand at a time. (It was the Old Lead Tinsel too! Its a Wonder we Don't have Tails! Lol) My Brother Jay and I Wanted to Help but I think my Dad Really Enjoyed doing it.This Burly Carpenter with Callused Hands found this Exercise of Creativity, Relaxing. One Christmas Dad told Jay and I that we could Help! We were Sooo Excited ! He actually let us Hang the Tinsel too!And when Jay and I were Finished..He Told us that we did
a Really Good Job!
Jay and I were so Proud, we were Beaming!
I think that was the Beginning of my Love for Decorating. Much to my Husbands Dismay! Lol!

Ha! I remember tinsel on the tree! I secretly always hated that stuff. I love the story about your Dad decorating, that's so sweet.
Brings back a lot of childhood memories, Jill! Such a sweet post...
I love the story about your dad...so sweet. My dad and I always did the Christmas decorating and it was a special time with him. Thanks for the pretty Christmas card...I love it!
Ahhh, so very beautiful, Jill. Your special place is so restful ... I find much peace coming here. I love that shabby lacy paper in the collage titled "La Periode de Noel" Where did you find that?
I wish you and your family a most blessed and blissful holiday season. May your hearts overfloweth in peace ... Hugs, P.
Ah, I love visiting your blog ~ there's always such a sense of warmth and peace ~ as though it's a little slice of home.

Hi Jill,
My dad was the tree decorator too!! I love the picture of your tree dripping in tinsel-brings back some fond memories.
This is Christmas number 3 without my dad and brother, and for as wonderful as this time of year is, it is never quite the same.
I wish you and your family a blessed and joyous holiday.

Loved reading that about your father, Jill...I remember my mom hanging the tinsel that way, too...one piece at a time--no clumping!
Your card is beautiful...thanks for all you share.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
