Hello Dear Friends;

I have Been working hard 

to Create Something Special  

for my Friend Wendy of Bliss Angel! 

She hosted another Altoid Tin Swap and of Coarse I had to play!

I was Lucky Enough to get her as my Partner this time so I needed to make something 'Merry & Bright' For her.

I am a Little Late a getting this mailed to her

but I hope she won't mind.

It's that 'Slow as Molasses in January' Working Speed 

that gets me into trouble I think.

 

I have to tell you I have Fallen in Love 

with yet another Bit of Vintage Whimsy.

Watch Faces, Gears,Cogs, Springs and Hour & Minute Hands!

Oh my Gosh I am having so much fun with adding them to my pieces!

 I just can't have a Plain Back you know...

And now I will Share the Beautiful Christmas tin

Hello Dear Friends!

I have been spending quite a bit of time in my Studio

doing Quite a Few different swaps! 

I find it takes me a while to Create and Craft my Pieces.

My Grandpa would say I was as 

'Slow as Molasses in January'!

I don't know... I do find it a Process. 

I can have one Idea in my Head in the Beginning

but the finished piece can be Completely Different! 

Well if I am Just Slow 

or 

too Detail Orientated and a Perfectionist,

All I can say is I am Having Fun Every step of the Way!!

 I have seen so Many Altered Altoids Tins 

and have Always thought how much Fun they Were!

Like little Shadow Boxes!

So when My Friend Wendy of Bliss Angel 

was Hostessing an 

Altered Altoids Tin Swap

on her Blog, 

I thought I can't Pass up a Chance 

to Have some Fun!

 So here is My first attempt 

at an Altered  Tin!

I started off Painting My Tin.

I read about a method
that will actually 

Rust Your Tin!

I Decided that maybe it would be something to try 

when I had Multiple tins to Finish.

(It involved Bleach and Vinegar...Ventilation...Etc)

 I started Playing around with the Backdrop

and Discovered I could Create a 3-D

using Multiple Layers of Paper.

Moonbeams in a Bottle...Some Buttons...

a little Bit of Steam Punk Gadgets and Gears..

Some Moths and an Adorable Fairy!

Oh Boy did I have Fun Playing with this!

 A While Back I received an Email

from Mary of Green Papers Inviting Me 

to Participate in Her 

Vintage Glue Book Swap.

 She was Inviting all of her Students 

that took her Wonderful

Vintage Glue Book Course!

I couldn't turn down another Opportunity

to have Fun Making these pages.

 Mary's Class was 

the Very First Class

I took in Mixed Media Art.

She taught me all of the Basics 

in Making and Creating Beautiful Collages!

 Her Course Challenged me 

to Try so many  New Things!

Chalk, Matte Gel Medium...and Gesso!

What the World is Gesso??! 

Tape Transfer ???????What..?

Lol!

 My First Collage...... Oh My......

She was so Sweet and

Encouraging with her Comments.

"Wow...I would Have Never thought of doing that....."

I am Teasing! She didn't say that! 

She was Kind!

 I feel like I have come a long way 

since that first piece. 

I think that I still have  

Much More Room for 

Growing and Trying New Things!

 Theses Pages where so Much Fun to Create!

Now they get mailed off to Mary

where she will assemble a Book for Me.

Not Just Me but all Who Participated. 

Each of will receive a Book 

with an assortment of Collage pages 

from various participants.

Quite an Undertaking for Mary I think!

She only asked for an Extra Page

to keep for herself. 

(Of Coarse there was a Small Fee

for Materials for Book Assemblage)

I Hope she shares that book on her blog!

I am sure it will be Gorgeous!

 On the Back of each page 

we were asked to provide our

Email and Blog address.

When My Book Arrives 

I will Be sure to share it with you all!

I have been in the Studio Creating Again 

and I am Glad to be Back !

When my Kids are Home 

I find 

I want to Hang out with them 

so my Studio Work goes on the Back Burner.

This is there first week back to school.

So Many Ideas! So Little Time!

This is a Little Book I Created for a 

Very Sassy New Friend!

This is My Thank you Gift 

for the one thing I managed

to Squeek in this Summer.

A Mixed Media Artist Supply Swap 

With Paper Whimsy!

This is there Very Least I could Do for her

with the Wonderful Package She Sent me!

It is Like Having Your Best Girlfriend 

Sending you all the Things 

You Love and Adore!

She was Very Generous and Kind!

We were suppose to make a ATC Thank You..

 Well you know I can never turn down

a Chance to have fun!!

 

 I cut out ATC size pieces of watercolor paper

and glued a length of ribbon to create my Hinges.

Next I layered my Images on each pages over the Ribbon.

I Think that next time I would go Ahead and Glue All of the Ribbon 

to the Watercolor Pages First. Then Assemble the Book. 

I think it be easier  then the Way I did it!
